heavier things
have you listened like ever intently to the album? Yes, I am referring to John Mayer's new album, dwit!
Anyway, here's an interesting discovery. Robin, being the fanatic he is, read some where that there is an audio mistake in the recording of Wheel (last track of album, track 10, in case you've only listened and didn't bother about the titles ... tsk tsk...).
Robin showed it to me and I could hear weird beeps in the song. I listened to my version on my iPOD and it had the exact same beeps at the exact same spot.
Here it is. You will hear two beeps between 2:17 and 2:20 of the song. Or thereabouts. Go figure and let me know if you hear the beeps as well.
Wonder why they left it in. Or did they know about the beeps???

covert point
That was what i was trying to drive at on that last post. The common misconception is that money is the root of all evil, when 1 Tim 6:10 says, "For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs."
So it is the LOVE or LUST after money that is the root of all evil. The point I was trying to make in that not so obvious post was to reiterate that money is up there with oxygen. We need it to breathe. Yet lusting after it will bring hopelessness. It is what we do with it that matters. Having much is not a sin. Using much is also not a sin. The question is on the notion of Stewardship. And the fruits that bear as a result of financial abundance.
Churches are built with money. Ministries are funded by money. Feeding the poor is funded by money.
My dad used to tell me that money paid for my maggie noodles when i didn't understand the importance of money. I guess there was wisdom i took for granted.

1 Tim 6:10
here's what it says ...
"Lust for money brings trouble and nothing but trouble. Going down that path, some lose their footing in the faith completely and live to regret it bitterly ever after." - The Message Bible Remix.
What's your context?

afterglow
thank you sarah. she shares your name too.
hope its not a depressing album. i won't buy if it is. i tend to choose my language very carefully these days. the mind is a valuable asset in our days. i want to fill it with nothing that will bring me below the carpet.
but she, being of intelligent pop diva status, would not disappoint, i hope.
let me know when you've tested the waters.

my thoughts wander
like there are thousands in the horizon, millions on the brink of breaking out. this is anime at its best.
spent waking hours pining. pining for love, pining for resolve. pining for that eternal comfort that would make the angels jealous.
this morning there was work to be done, words to fill the page. this morning i chose otherwise to articulate my spaces to create a less inhibiting environment. so i could write again.
cos they are due for assessment in less than TWO weeks, damn it!
got class to go. i go change now.

escape
funny how i am having a heavy head and a tired beaten back yet i refuse to go to sleep. for fear that i will overdo it. oversleep my waking hours.
funny how there's so much anticipation. so much room left i don't know how to fill it now.
funny how the bed is beckoning and my feet is weary. yet i refuse to lie me horizontal. this is stubborn me or anxious billy at work?
think i'm really tired now. tired of having to wake up to someone else's clock.
if it's going to be, it has to be me.

i'm a genius
i figured out how to route from another router in this house. i'm so clever.
actually my trusty powerbook is the one. all i needed to do was to plug in the original cable, close the powerbook, open it up again, go into system preferences, look at the network connections and copy down the IP, Subnet and Router address. then close the powerbook. unplug the ethernet cable, plug that into the router, run an ethernet through that router, open up the powerbook, log into the SMC router and enter the numbers just copied earlier into the static IP address configuration.
essentially i just needed the IP, Subnet and Router addresses to reroute the connection here in my room. i feel so accomplished.

gone long
have i been that long gone? it's only been 20 days.
finally some things are beginning to take shape. assimilating pretty well into my new household. something cracked on the previous deal and nothing took place. let's just say that we discovered some fundamental character flaws. some of us need to grow up. some of us need the other to walk away.
so here i am, in a sun fresh post rainy day, blogging out my thoughts once again. that's a sure sign i am connected. a long 15 m cable was all i needed to pull my resources together. there's so many people to email, so many transactions to close and process and so many icq messages to delete.
don't give up on me, i'm about to come alive.

Known Bugs: Does not work well with Explorer for Mac OSX 10.x. Menu items incorrectly displayed on Explorer for Windows XP. Works well in OmniWeb except tagboard does not work. Not sure about Safari for Mac OS X. Anyone got any luck on that?
